D, I think there are a lot of people in the world who maybe need a confidence boost. It maybe inane banter and is pointless, but it is harmless. The young women who show gratuitous shots of them selves are obviously lacking self worth, trying to bait men into giving them compliments.

It is harmless, I suppose. A far cry though from the
mp3.com days (circa'98) we all love. Now that was
a real community: even though we were all on dail-
up, musicians remixed each other, anybody with any
Photoshop skills designed the actual CDs/banners.
It was grand. This sounds fickle, I know, but at
one time, 7 or so of us mp3.com people musically
clubbed together and produced three 'super group'
tunes. I sent it in to Computer Music mag, and it
became the 'Featured Demo' of that month. The only
thing they hated were my 'shouty' vocals. None of
us got much work from it but it was a good laugh.
It was authentic, you know. Comparativly speaking,
what happens at myspace seems kind of sad. The
Flash music streaming is rather good though.
